We started the day going up the mountains to see an old railway line. The original bridge that carried the train is now broken after two earthquakes. However, it was still a very beautiful place to take pictures.
Then we went to Miaoli where we painted our own wooden creatures. The factory used to make wooden ducks to export to America.
Afterwards we headed over to a Hakka Village called Nei Wan. There were so many people! It was like a daytime night market. We happened to be there during a very famous Taiwanese comic artist’s festival, so we went on a scavenger hunt as part of the festivities.
We ended the day with dinner in front of a temple and mochi making!
